Terms of Use

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of 家屿 Jiayu. By creating an account or using Jiayu, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Jiayu provides private family spaces for memories, media, family interaction, and optional consent-based location sharing. Features may change as the service develops.

Jiayu is not an emergency service, monitoring guarantee, medical service, or substitute for Apple Find My, emergency services, or direct communication. Location may be delayed, approximate, unavailable, or outdated.

Accounts and security

• Provide accurate information and keep access to your email secure.
• Do not share authentication codes or bypass device protections.
• You are responsible for activity on your account until you notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
• Use session controls and account deletion when a device is lost or an account should no longer be used.

Family spaces and consent

Invite only people who should have access to a family space. Family owners and administrators are responsible for membership and appropriate use of family-management permissions.

Do not upload another person’s private information, image, or location without an appropriate reason and their permission. Do not pressure anyone to enable location sharing. Every user may choose whether, how precisely, and for how long to share.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Jiayu a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, resize, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service for you and your family.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit content. You are responsible for content you share and for the people who can see it within your selected family.

Prohibited use

• Harassment, stalking, coercive monitoring, or non-consensual tracking.
• Illegal, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, or rights-infringing content.
• Unauthorized access, credential theft, scraping, or security testing.
• Malware, disruption, excessive automated requests, or reverse engineering.
• Using Jiayu to make emergency, safety-critical, or life-critical decisions.

Availability and changes

We aim to provide a secure and reliable service, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every background update will arrive. We may maintain, change, limit, or discontinue features, and may suspend access to protect users, comply with law, or address misuse.

Ending use and account deletion

You may stop using Jiayu at any time and may permanently delete your account in the app. Deletion is irreversible. Your authored content and private uploads are removed; a family you own is transferred to another member or deleted if empty.

We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violation of these Terms, serious security risk, unlawful conduct, or when required by law. Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Jiayu is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jiayu and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, or loss arising from reliance on delayed or unavailable location. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation is prohibited by law.

Applicable law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without overriding mandatory consumer protections or privacy rights that apply where you live. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. We will update the effective date and give additional notice where required. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
